Summary

Combating Business Crime in Poland
Bojarski, Janusz; Dijck, Maarten van

This paper elaborates on a selected number of developments in Polish Criminal Law, all of these are somehow related to the containment of (organised) business crime in Poland. It will be briefly discuss the emergence of new forms of organised and business crime. In the field of criminal law particular attention is devoted to the developments in legislation counteracting money laundering and concerning the forfeiture of criminal proceeds and corruption. In the field of criminal procedure the issues of the incognito witness and the crown witness are addressed. The testimonies of both witness types have become important, though not uncontroversial, instruments in the fight against organised and business crime.

About CCC

The Cross-Border Crime Colloquium is an annual event since 1999. It brings together experts on international organised (economic) crime to discuss the latest developments in empirical research, legislation and law enforcement, with a special geographical focus on Western, Central, and Eastern Europe. The Colloquia aim at building bridges in three respects: between East and West Europe, between scholars and practitioners, and between old and young.
